Vitamins for skin health
Smooth, healthy skin indicates how well you are nourishing your body. This becomes especially true as we age, and skin tends to dry out, flake, and lose elasticity.
Skin quality, texture, and elasticity are influenced by sun exposure, age, hydration, nutrition, hormones, medications, and dermatologic conditions. Our medical team evaluates whether dehydration or a documented nutrient deficiency is present before recommending IV or injectable nutrient replacement; IV vitamin therapy should not be presented as a proven anti-aging or cosmetic treatment for otherwise nutrient-replete patients.
Essential vitamins and nutrients such as A, B, C, E, K, glutathione, calcium, and amino acids have great skin benefits but are not always abundant in our bodies. These nutrients aren’t always absorbed adequately through our diets or oral supplements.

Skin health vitamins and supplements
One of the most powerful nutrients for the skin is glutathione, an antioxidant found in every cell of the body. As an antioxidant, glutathione helps combat the accumulation of harmful free radicals. If allowed to accumulate, free radicals can damage healthy cells.
This devastation of healthy cells by free radicals contributes to oxidative stress, which is one factor studied in skin aging. Glutathione is an antioxidant naturally produced by the body, but evidence for IV glutathione as a cosmetic anti-aging or skin-lightening treatment is limited. IV glutathione should not be represented as proven to lighten skin or reverse skin aging, and treatment decisions should follow an individualized medical evaluation.
What vitamin helps skin?
Our IV vitamins for skin health are customized based on each patient’s need. However, each one will contain our mix of hydrating fluids and electrolytes as a base. Your custom IV drip may contain the following vitamins:
B-Complex Vitamins
B-complex encompasses eight different B vitamins. The vitamin B family performs essential roles in the body, from immune function to cardiovascular support. Vitamin B12 – a B-complex vitamin – contributes to overall health, energy levels, and the appearance of your skin. B2 (riboflavin) improves skin tone. Biotin (vitamin B7) keeps skin moisturized and plump.
Because B vitamins are involved in almost every major body system, B vitamin supplementation supports your overall health – not just your skin.
Vitamin C
Although vitamin C supports normal immune function and is required for collagen synthesis, which also makes it relevant to normal skin physiology. Vitamin C is a well-known antioxidant and is required for normal collagen synthesis. IV vitamin C should not be described as a general detoxification treatment. Collagen is an essential building block for healthy nails, hair, skin, and even teeth.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is an add-on that promotes healthy cells throughout your body, including your skin tone. Vitamin D has important roles in immune and skin biology, but increasing vitamin D should not be presented as a proven acne treatment unless deficiency or another clinical indication is being addressed. Vitamin D also plays a role in wound healing, meaning that it helps your cells grow and repair properly.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps remove damaging free radicals from your body. It also plays an important role in your skin’s defenses! Vitamin E absorbs UV rays that can contribute to premature aging, wrinkles, and dark spots.
Vitamin K
Vitamin K is essential for normal blood clotting and has roles in bone metabolism. Evidence does not establish IV vitamin K as a cosmetic treatment for stretch marks, spider veins, dark circles, scars, or uneven complexion; supplementation should be based on an appropriate clinical indication.
Myers’ Cocktail Contains a Mix of Vitamins
The Myers’ Cocktail is a popular mix of essential vitamins and minerals. We often recommended it for healthy patients to support general wellness. It’s full of B vitamins plus vitamin C and magnesium, which help support healthy skin.
IV therapy for skin
IV administration delivers nutrients directly into the bloodstream, but that does not establish IV vitamin therapy as a preferred or proven treatment for clear skin. Skin concerns such as acne, pigmentation, dryness, or premature aging can have many causes, and treatment should be based on the diagnosis. IV nutrients may be appropriate when there is a clinical indication such as a documented deficiency or another physician-determined need; cosmetic skin benefits should not be assumed from the route of administration.

Skin Health: Evidence & Limitations
Skin appearance is influenced by hydration, sun exposure, nutrition, sleep, smoking, medications, hormones, and dermatologic conditions. IV hydration may improve dehydration when present, and nutrient replacement may be appropriate for documented deficiencies, but IV vitamins should not be presented as a proven anti-aging or skin-rejuvenation treatment.
Skin Health FAQs
Can IV vitamins make skin younger or brighter? Evidence is limited. Any treatment should be individualized, and persistent skin concerns are often better evaluated with a dermatologist or other appropriate clinician.
